Infrared Ultrafast
Some recent news at Infrared Beamline 1.4:
Cold Stage for Microscopes Available - Jan 18, 2007
A Microscope compatible cold stage is now available at the Infrared Beamlines. It's customized to use on the Continuum XL and Nic-Plan Infrared Microscopes, operating from 4 K to room temperature. It comes with a pair of KBr windows allowing both reflection and transmission measurements.
Grazing Angle Objective Available - June 23, 2006
A grazing angle objective is now availalbe at the beamline 1.4.3. The users can now measure the grazing angle reflectivity of various samples. The objective provides a 85 degree incident angle and it is useful for analysis of the thin coatings and measurements with special grazing angle setup.
He-3 Cryostat and Companion Optics - June, 2005
This is a system which hold temerature at as low as 0.3 K, available with different Infrared windows. The cryostat can be connected to the Bruker and ScienceTech Interferometers operating at Beamline 1.4.2, with a set of companion optics. Beamline 1.4.2 provides ability to measure transmission or reflection spectra covering from 5-10 cm-1 (wavelength: 2-1 mm) to 25000 cm-1 (wavelength: 400 nm).
First Light at Infrared Beamline 1.4.4
First synchrotron light becomes availabe at Beamline 1.4.4. The newly available beamline equipped with the most advanced infrared micro - spectrometer, Thermo - Nicolet Nexus 870 with Continuum XL IR microscope. An array MCT detector is a bonus for this system.
