About My Family
My first name, Zhao, means "clear" or "obvious". My full name accidentally or purposely coincides with the name of a famous general in Wei Kindom (one of the three kingdoms, ~AD 220). I occasionally use "John" as my English name for it pronounces like "Zhao".
I like to write software, listen to audible books or read non-fictions (such as the world is flat or a short history of nearly everything ), swim, play basketball, and play a chess game called Weiqi ( or igo in Japanese). I used to like fictions, but most of today's fictions are too commercial (like Dan Brown's Angels and Demons, what a waste of tiime!). I used to like Hollywood movies, but now there are a little too many Hollywood movies around me so I like to watch selected DVDs instead.
I used to be very quiet when I was at the age of my daughter, and my parents had to pull me out to have some outdoor activities after I was reading a book for hours. I managed to be social when I became older, encouraged by them. So later on in my high school, I actually wished to become a teacher some day. I really enjoyed teaching Solid State Physics (tutorial) in my graduate school, and General Physics in Florida State University.
I am married. My wife, Shanshan, was a pharmacist in Tianjin Hexi Hospital. Now she is working toward a Pharm.D. degree or a Pharmacist license in America.
We have a 5-year-old, Amy. She could recite 10-20 ancient chinese poems when she was one and half years old! She is now in K-1, while learning swimming, clay art and ballet. Her dream for now is to become a doctor or artist!
